For the first time since I've been teaching, we have been able to take a holiday all at the same time. In years gone by, the holidays from my school and the girls school have not coincided. This year though, with both girls at ISU now, we have been able to all take time off together. We celebrated by going to Jinja...a couple of hours away. We had a few nights at Kingfisher Resort with friends, and then had one night at a friends who has just built a house literally right on the Nile. Amazing view!! Wow! And then we finished it off with a night at the GeoLodge in Mabira Rainforest. Also Wow! We stayed in the VIP suite (no more expensive than the rest of the rooms), and had our own deck to sit on which was over hanging the forest. We heard and saw birds of all kinds and red tailed monkeys as well as a hyrax at night. Gosh, they can make an awful noise! It was a wonderful and well needed break away from the hassle of Kampala.
