Naomi Birthday

Finally - the calendar has been turned over to October and the day that Naomi has been reminding us about has finally come.
HER BIRTHDAY!
We decided to have her party in the morning as there are multiple other parties happening this weekend and we didn't want to clash with them.
We had lots of children over - think there were around 14 of them along with assorted parents and they all seemed to have a good time. Right now, Emma and the girls have gone off to the next party (2nd of 3 this weekend). The place is somewhat back to rights - mostly cleared up. I haven't ventured into the girls bedroom yet though....
One of the highlights of the day was of course, the cake. This year Em had bought a cheap barbie doll and then made a cake like a big ball dress. Unfortunately, due to her already over-sized and out of proportion legs, we had to remove them to get her to fit inside the cake itself.
Our plan is to go out for a family meal to celebrate, just the 4 of us - and we're looking forward to that too.
I reckon we'll all need to go to the gym and do some exercise after this weekend!

Back to School

Well, once again a slight delay between blogs! As you can see from the title, it's back to school for everyone now - the girls have been back over a week now and Em for almost a month now. Beth is now having french lessons - but she says she can't remember any of it when she gets home! Naomi is happy to be in big Kindergarten and not little Kindergarten.
Laurie is doing fine at the office - he has had a few more days in the office and also down at the airfield trying to help them get their internet connection up and running. It seems that the 3G modem that we have, needs to be out on a pole to get a good enough signal to keep them connected. He's also working on a net-to-net VPN connection but that doesn't seem to be doing what it should at the moment.
As a whole, there is a lot of flying coming up in the next month or so, with some longer flights requiring an overnight stop up country.
At home we had an incident with the taps(faucets) being live for a while when the power was apparently off - I guess this could be a problem with our inverter, we'll have to get it looked at. Bethany went to wash her hands and couldn't turn off the water! When the mains power came back on everything was back to normal... weird! Any electricians out there fancy a job????
