God Bless Texas!

We are currently on our last day of a fantastic 4 week trip to America. We came here for several reasons. One was that we used to live in Houston, Texas between 1998 and 2002. Bethany was born here and so it's been great to show her around where she was born. We have many friends that we made when we lived here that we have been able to reconnect with and catch up on their lives! It's felt in some ways that we've never left! We've also been able to see family - Lauires brother Jon and his wife Erin, and also Laurie's Mum have been able to come and visit. Another reason for coming was to do some MAF presentations and raise the awareness of what MAF does (or rather what God's doing through MAF). We gave six presentations...two to our old church (Houston's First Baptist) and several others for different churches and the Mission Center. We've had a fantastic place to stay thanks to Lazybrook Baptist Church! It was simply amazing to be in one place for four weeks and to be able to unpack and unwind. We've enjoyed the smooth roads, supermarkets stocked full with food, delivery pizza, fast internet, drinking tap water and sooo much more! It's going to be a rather bitter sweet departure. We are so sad to be leaving a place that has definitely been an important part of our lives, and yet, we're ready to head back to Uganda and get back into the work that God has for us there. We'll be in touch again soon and let you know how we settle back!
