Famous Passengers
This past week has been an interesting one - I did 2 all day charters to Gulu, a town about 1 hour flight away (but 5 hours by road) for a church here in Kampala. They have a lot of connections with the UK and North America and some of you may indeed have heard of Watoto - a childrens choir from the church of the same name which tours abroad a lot. (Watoto Church)
The first flight was on Monday and I carried someone who I have met a couple of times in the past - first at a mission in Leamington Spa when I was a little boy, and then once when I was at Sheffield University at a mission there. J.John is pretty well known in the UK and is a great speaker and evangelist (Philo Trust). He even remembered both the missions that I knew him from!! He was travelling with his wife and son to visit one of the projects in Gulu that Watoto church was sponsoring.
The other flight later in the week was with John Burns from Vancouver in Canada (Relate Church). He and his wife Helen were travelling to Gulu for the Watoto rescued women's home dedication ceremony. We then had to rush back to Kampala in order for him to be back in time to preach at an evening youth service!
Another high point of the week was that I managed to get to see a Windle Trust project that I have written a database for in Gulu and assist them, not only with the database but also gave them some networking and computer assistance. This project is sponsoring students from the whole of the north of Uganda to go through school and technical college and the database tracks them through from application to graduation.
That's all for now - God Bless,
Laurie & the girls

I'm delighted you managed a proper family half term. But did Laurie hurt his back packing too much luggage into the plane for the famous passengers? I'm praying that it's completely recovered very quickly.
love - Susan, Leamington Spa
