We are ready for CHOGM! This week, the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) is meeting in Kampala. The Queen arrives this week along with 52 other heads of the Commonwealth. Uganda has been sprucing up the streets for quite some time now! There are tonnes of posters all around the town saying 'Are you ready for CHOGM?'. Some of them have been quite funny.
We have all been warned to stay off the streets - many roads will be closed, or ID will be needed to pass them. Consequently, we have all stocked up on lots of food to last us the week so that we won't starve if we can't make it to the shops! Unfortunately, I am playing Mozart's Requiem at Namirembe Cathedral on Thursday, along with another friend Lucy - and so we will still need to cross town each evening for rehearsals! Ah well.
